Shopping in Isarvorstadt: eccentric and classic

ShoppingSchuh-Bertl

If you're looking for something extravagant or classic quality products, you'll certainly find the right thing on the roads that radiate from Gärtnerplatz in all directions. Insiders know that the Gärtnerplatzviertel is the stronghold of Munich’s gay scene. In addition to numerous gay and lesbian pubs you can find many extravagant stores. Fans of English goods can chat with the owner of Pomeroy & Winterbottom who moved from England to Munich many years ago.

You'll find plenty of pretty gifts and fine delicacies. If your feet are sore from walking around this trendy area, there are several shoe stores selling fashionable footwear as well as comfortable and foot friendly shoes. At the end of a long, tiring shopping spree, relax in a café on Gärtnerplatz or, should you find your purse completely empty once you've completed your tour of the Isarvorstadt, on one of the benches in the center of Gärtnerplatz, right across from the theater.
