Shopping in Berlin
Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg is certainly western Berlin’s most famous shopping boulevard. Local people call the street Ku’damm. It’s 3.5 km long from Breitscheidplatz to Rathenauplatz. Along this shopping paradise, you’ll find department stores, boutiques, restaurants and cafés. At the end of Tauentzienstraße, where it crosses Ku’damm, is mainland Europe’s largest department store, the famous seven-floor Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe) with its giant selection of goods. The Mitte district also has a classy shopping street with Friedrichstraße. Here you’ll find the most exclusive fashions created by famous designers and the renowned Galeries Lafayette department store, which sells the latest Paris fashions and French specialities.
