Mainova, one of Germany´s largest regional power suppliers, is the chief provider of electricity, natural gas, water and district heating in Frankfurt. Greenpeace Energy and Lichtblick, for example, advertise that they provide 100 percent environmentally friendly electricity. Mainova remainds the largest and most important supplier of power in the area with about 460,000 electricity, natural gas, heating and water customers in Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main region.

Mainova is also the main supplier of natural gas for heating and cooking in Frankfurt households. Mainova also supplies natural gas to people who drive in Frankfurt´s road network. The Rhein-Main area has one of the densest natural gas station networks in Germany.
