FIS – international, individual and future forward

Founded in 1961 Frankfurt International School is firmly established as one of the most renowned IB (International Baccalaureate) schools in the world. 1600 students from 60 nations attend the Oberursel campus, another 200 the boutique campus in Wiesbaden Naurod. The language of instruction is English and both campuses are fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. In form of a challenging and dynamic educational program including STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), performing and visual arts as well as a broad sports program, FIS offers a world of opportunities to students and their families.

For children from the age of three, FIS helps lay the foundation for a successful educational journey – and a love for lifelong learning. The FISW campus has been "Designed to Thrive", here students can accelerate both their learning and their personal growth in an environment where each student feels intellectually challenged, creatively inspired and emotionally secure.

Highly qualified and experienced faculty from over 30 countries prepare students up to grade 12 for their futures, meeting the individual needs of each and every single one. FIS graduates attend top-ranked universities in Europe and Asia, Ivy League colleges in the US as well as Russell Group institutions in the UK. And after graduation the FIS community remains a part of their lives in the form of the many alumni chapters represented around the globe.

Dr Paul M. Fochtman, Head of School, says, “The rapid increase in knowledge over the past decades has been exponential, particularly in the areas of science and technology. The pace of this evolution of intellect is only growing faster and we know that students who begin today at FIS in First Steps will be graduating into a world we can barely imagine. It requires our school to “stay young and nimble” as we grow older, because our FIS vision is to set the pace in international education, not follow it.”
