The 14 large Oktoberfest tents

The following is a short overview of the heart of the Wies’n, the 14 large festival tents:






Armbrustschützenzelt (Crossbow Shooter Tent)

Seating inside: 5,830
Seating outside: 1,600
Price of beer: 9.35 euros a measure
Brewery: Paulaner
Clientele: Mixed
Special feature: The meat for the many dishes comes from special controlled breeding at the Siegertsbrunn estate.
The German crossbow championships have been held in a tent annex since 1895.

Augustiner Festival Hall

Seating inside: 6,000
Sitting outside: 2,500
Price of beer: 9.30 euros a measure
Brewery: Augustiner
Clientele: Mixed, many locals
Special feature: The beer is poured from wooden casks, not out of steel casks as in most of the other tents.
Perhaps that is why the "Augustiner" is considered the best beer of the Wiesn.
The servers at the Augustiner are supposed to be the friendliest. The many regular guests attest to this.

Bräurosl Festival Hall

Seats inside: 6,200
Seats outside: 2,200
Price of beer: 9.40 euros a measure
Brewery: Hacker-Pschorr
Clientele: Mixed, gay and lesbian community
Special feature: On "Gay Sunday" during the first weekend of the Wiesn, the gay and lesbian community moves into the Bräurosl.
Two maypoles roughly 20 meters high to the left and right of the main entrance show the way to the festival tent from afar.

Fischer Vroni

Seating inside: 3,080
Seating outside: 700
Price of beer: 9.50 euros a measure
Brewery: Augustiner
Clientele: Mixed
Special feature: As the name reveals, fish is at its best here. Numerous fish dishes in the original Bavarian steckerlfisch offers a welcome change from roasted chicken and the like.
                      

Hacker Festival Tent

Seating inside: 6,950
Seating outside: 2,400
Price of beer: 9.40 euros a measure
Brewery: Hacker-Pschorr
Clientele: Mixed
Special: Thanks to the white clouds and blue sky of the tent ceiling, you celebrate in a Bavarian heaven.
A special highlight is the “convertible roof" installed in 2005. Whenever required, the tent roof is partially opened, offering an unimpeded view of the nighttime sky.
                      

Hippodrom

Seating inside: 3,200
Seating outside: 1,000

Brewery: Spaten-Franziskaner Brewery
Clientele: VIP’s, trendy types, young people
Special feature: The establishment’s own champagne bar with plenty of singles action

Hofbräu Festival Tent

Seating inside: 4,500
Seating outside: 3,022
Price of beer: 9.35 euros a measure
Brewery: Hofbräu München
Clientele: International, especially popular with Americans and Australians
Special feature: In the standing area (1,000 spots) in front of the stage, you are in the middle of the action but can still comfortably enjoy your beer.

Käfers Wiesn Schänke

Seating inside: 1,000
Seating outside: 1,900
Price of beer: 9.50 euros a measure
Brewery: Paulaner
Clientele: VIP’s, notables
Special feature: Guests are cosseted with gourmet food at the highest level.
The Käfer is also a popular meeting place for a nightcap. The bar closes its doors at 1 a.m.

Löwenbräu Festival Hall

Seating inside: 5,700
Seating outside: 2,800
Price of beer: 9.50 euros a measure
Brewery: Löwenbräu
Clientele: Mixed
Special feature: Visible from afar thanks to its 37-meter tower upon which a lion with a beer stein is enthroned

Ochsenbraterei

Seating inside: 5,900
Seating outside: 1,500
Price of beer: 9.20 euros a measure
Brewery: Spaten
Clientele: Mixed
Special feature: As the name leads you to suspect, an ox on a rotating spit is the culinary attraction here.

Paulaner Winzerer Fähndl Festival Tent

Price of beer: 9.40 euros a measure
Brewery: Paulaner
Clientele: Mixed
Special feature: The players of FC Bayern München like stop by for a stein for two after winning home games.

Schottenhamel Festival Hall

Seating inside: 6,000

Price of beer: 9.50 euros a stein
Brewery: Spaten Franziskaner-Bräu
Clientele: Young people, trendy types
Special feature: Munich Mayor Christian Ude opens Oktoberfest by tapping the first cask here.

Schützenfestzelt (Shooters Festival Tent)

Total seating: 4,442
Price of beer: 9.50 euros a masure
Brewery: Löwenbräu
Clientele: Mixed
Special feature: The Shooters Tent is the first Oktoberfest tent where the garden is equipped with a windbreak around it.
Culinary highlights include various roasted pig delicacies.

Wine Tent

Seating inside: 1,920
Seating outside: 580
Price of beer: 14.60 euros a measure weiflbier
Brewery: Paulaner Weiflbier, Nymphenburg Sekt and wine, Roederer champagne
Clientele: Mixed, many notables
Special feature: Large selection of elite types of wine and champagne.
 The interior architecture of the wind tent with its rustic wood paneling is reminiscent of a Franconian wine garden.
